Job Captain Overview
Herman Coliver Locus Architecture is seeking an experienced Job Captain with 3-5 years of High-Complexity Large-Scale (HCLA) experience. The practice is unique in that all clients are community-based, focusing on both supportive housing and sacred spaces, particularly within the Jewish community.
Projects Currently Underway
- 129 supportive independent senior housing apartments with child care on the Laguna Honda Hospital campus in SF
- 50 apartments of affordable family housing in Half Moon Bay
- Synagogue renovations in San Francisco and Carmel
- An early education and community center in the South Bay
- 136 supportive housing apartments in SF Mission neighborhood
- 175 apartments for low-income seniors with a community serving banquet hall in SF’s Chinatown
- 118 apartments of affordable family housing in Fremont
What We Expect Of You
- Strong design and communication skills
- Extensive familiarity with construction document assembly
- Understanding and curiosity about building processes and details
- Dedication to environmental sustainability and resource efficiency
- Advanced Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp skills (Adobe Creative Cloud preferred)
- Experience with code analysis, Title 24, CalGreen, and ADA regulations
- Experience with Type I, Type III, and/or Type V construction
- Architectural degree from an accredited university
- Comfort with managing and supervising junior staff
- Prior multi-family residential and/or civic/institutional experience
- Thorough command of the English language and architectural terminology
- A passion for your work and a collaborative nature
