Herbicide Applicator Technician

About the Role

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking highly motivated Herbicide Applicator Technicians responsible for spraying right-of-ways, roadsides, removing weeds, trimming, and cutting grass and brush. This work is accomplished using a spray truck, an ATV, a backpack sprayer, or by dragging a hose.

Technicians will complete all DOT-required truck inspections, identify and troubleshoot truck/spray system issues or needed repairs, and keep trucks and equipment clean and organized. Training will be provided to calibrate all spray equipment, understand weed, grass, and brush types, and gain knowledge of methods, chemicals used, their control purposes, and safety requirements to meet customer expectations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Must be 21+ years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with 5 years of clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Must be able to travel away from home for up to 4-6 weeks at a time (hotel paid for by DCS and per-diem provided).
• Herbicide application experience is preferred but not required.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicators License (Category C6) preferred but not required for hire; must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
• Agricultural, landscaping, or related industry experience is preferred.
