Hematology/Oncology Physician
The hospital was built on its present site in 1954, however the main patient wing addition was completed in 2001, a new Emergency Department in 2005, a new outpatient services complex in 2006, Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology Suite in 2013, Welch Cancer Center in 2014, ICU expansion in 2016, Outpatient Center addition to house physician offices in 2019, and a downtown Primary Care Clinic and expanded Transitional Care Unit in 2022. The medical staff team includes over 65 physicians and 30 advanced practice clinicians to include primary care, hospitalist, surgeons, radiologists, oncologist, ENT, cardiologists and more than 15 specialty care areas in our licensed 88 bed hospital. The hospital also currently employs full time hospitalists with support from advanced practice clinicians.
About the Role
Seeking a full time Board Certified/Eligible Medical Oncologist/Hematologist physician to join Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s Welch Cancer Center. Our Oncology team is supported by four general surgeons, specializing in breast, vascular and robotics, two interventional radiologists, two interventional cardiologists, three pathologists, a solid base of internal medicine and primary care physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and over 15 specialties. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work in SMH’s state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility, fully equipped and offering full chemo oncology clinic, its own pharmacy, and medical and radiation oncology treatment services. We welcome both experienced and new residency/fellowship trained candidates to apply.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a second full time oncologist and APC Monday through Friday 8-5pm, with shared call and a focus on a team approach to accommodate your family and work life balance.
Requirements
- MD or DO Degree
- Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited post-graduate training program in Internal Medicine, followed by Fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
- Current, unrestricted WY License, DEA & CSR.
- Will assist in WY licensure process if not yet received.
- Current certification or active participation in the examination process (with achievement of certification within 2 years) leading to certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with specialty Board Certification in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
- BLS Certification required.
