Hematology Oncology (APP)

About the role

Sovah Health-Danville, a Lifepoint Health Hospital in Danville, Virginia (on the NC border, NW of Durham), is growing with the addition of an employed, full-time APP to strengthen their established team. The position will contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment as a culture champion.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the weekly tumor board meetings and clinical trial programs
• Utilize Aria Oncology information system
• Provide 100% remote telephone shared call coverage (with low call volume)
• Treat patients in an outpatient setting with 95% outpatient clinic visits
• Work in a clinic with 10 infusion chairs
• Collaborate with a supportive team including navigators, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, lab technicians, phlebotomists, and an office manager
• Participate in a hospitalist group that admits patients
• Enjoy a low turnover rate in the clinic with a family-like atmosphere
• Opportunity to work with both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Master's degree in Nursing or related field
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Virginia
• Experience in Hematology/Oncology and/or Radiation Oncology
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of oncology practices and procedures

Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• Pass the appropriate national certification exam
• Be eligible for licensure in Virginia
• Have at least one year of relevant oncology experience
