Cherokee Millwright is a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of its customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet unique job requests. All field employees are cross trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, and more. The company's capabilities cover a full suite of millwrighting services, including installing, setting, aligning, and leveling machinery and equipment, as well as dismantling, refurbishing, reassembling, and moving. Additional expertise covers close tolerance and precision alignment, fabrication, concrete construction, and industrial HVAC solutions.

The focus of this position is assisting all employees by performing various tasks such as cleaning work areas, unloading materials, preparing jobsites, retrieving tools, and cleaning debris. The role is not limited to this specific skillset, and additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks at job sites.
• Prepare and clean up job sites.
• Assist with material loading, unloading, gathering, and distributing.
• Assist with installations, lay out tools, and perform several other basic tasks.
• Follow general laboring directions from site leader and/or foreman.
• Assist craft workers with their duties by performing basic needs.
• Develop and apply additional skills in other crafts as needed to meet customer needs.
• Perform duties and responsibilities on projects including, but not limited to, millwright, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, mechanical, and rigging.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Construction or manufacturing experience is highly desired but not required.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand.
• Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
