Helper

About the role

The Helper performs duties and operations to assist drivers in completing customer routes with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and adhering to all health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Loads and empties residential and/or commercial containers into truck manually or mechanically.
• Maneuvers containers staged curbside, dockside, carryout, or requiring pullout to complete service.
• Operates hoisting device to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hopper.
• Places all serviced bins back in their original upright position with covers replaced.
• Assists driver with backing maneuvers while on route.
• Loads trash and recycling into a rear-load truck in fluctuating weather conditions.
• Lifts 50 pounds constantly throughout the day while maintaining stamina for physically demanding duties.
• Maintains a safe working environment at all times.
• Works in a high-pace, ever-changing industry.
• Communicates professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Participates in training and learning opportunities to expand knowledge of company products, sales, and services.
• Performs other duties to support company vision, mission, and core values.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. constantly throughout the day.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding relationship management and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
• Proven work ethic and commitment to safety.
• Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including a drug screen.
