GDIT is seeking a Help Desk Technician to join our team supporting the Department of State at our Sterling and Manassas, Virginia offices. US citizenship is required.
About the role
As a Help Desk Technician, you will help build, maintain, and grow a new helpdesk while providing high-level technical support to remote customers. This role involves creating and refining processes, delivering excellent customer service, and troubleshooting issues in a Dev/Sec/Ops environment with evolving tools and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and service via phone, chat, email, and tickets
- Support chatbot, AI-driven analytics, and VDI implementations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, recommending corrective actions or procedural changes
- Support Active Directory accounts, GPOs, and related tasks
- Document and track customer incidents and requests in a ticketing system
- Follow resolution processes and escalate tickets as needed
- Serve as a subject matter expert for software and related issues
- Support zero trust initiatives
- Contribute to helpdesk process, procedure, and requirement development
Requirements
- Associate degree in an IT-related discipline or a minimum of 1 year of related experience (5+ years of related experience preferred)
- Technical support, networking, and application support experience
- Familiarity with AI chatbots and problem-solving skills
- CompTIA Security+ certification required within 6 months of start date
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay
Salary range: $69,264 – $115,689 per year (based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements).
Hourly rate range: $70,550 – $95,450 per year (based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements).
Schedule
- Full-time: 40 hours per week
- Onsite at customer locations in Sterling and Manassas, Virginia
