About the IVN Noordmidden Achterhoek
The IVN-afdeling Noord-Midden Achterhoek is an active association with nearly 300 members. We organise walks, lectures, courses, and workshops that are accessible to everyone. The region covers, among others, the towns of Lochem, Laren, Barchem, Borculo, Ruurlo, Vorden, and Hengelo (Gld.).
On our own initiative and upon request, the KIWI working group (Information and Shop Stand) provides an information stand at events such as fairs, markets, or open days. At this stand, we provide information about nature around the home and let visitors experience nature. We also provide information about IVN and our other working groups (including courses, walks, and landscape management). We sell items such as identification charts, magnifying pots, and booklets with information about plants and animals for both beginning and advanced nature enthusiasts.
What You Do as a Volunteer
- A few times per year, you will staff the stand, either indoors or outdoors, at events such as fairs, Christmas markets, or open days at green organisations.
- Provide information, for example about the activities that IVN organises. Sometimes we have a theme, such as composting or wild bees.
- Sell informational materials, identification charts, magnifying pots, and similar items.
- You will always be at the stand together with two people.
