Help Desk Support Specialist

About the role

Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Help Desk Support Specialist to provide frontline technical support to ensure reliable and consistent IT service delivery. This role supports end users by resolving basic issues and contributes to operational stability aligned with GPG’s objective of ensuring technology reliability while providing coverage at various locations and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Resolve basic IT issues for end users
• Contribute to operational stability
• Support various facilities in the greater Bakersfield area
• Work different shifts as required on a rotational basis

Requirements

• High school diploma, required
• 0-2 years of IT or technical support experience and ticketing systems or ITIL fundamentals, preferred
• Proficiency with computer systems in a Microsoft Windows network environment, MCP, MCSE, or A+ certified, required
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Must be able to support various facilities in the greater Bakersfield area
• Assignment could vary from one day to multiple weeks
• Candidate must live in Kern County area or within commuting distance
• Must be able to work different shifts as required on a rotational basis
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English as required to perform job duties
• Must have the ability to travel when needed to various Grimmway facilities
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company policy, insurance, and DMV requirements

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience, preferred

Skills

• Technical support experience
• ITIL fundamentals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows network environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
