About the role
The number of adults seeking English language instruction has increased significantly. More than 30 adults are currently waiting to learn.
Responsibilities
- Attend one of Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley's free tutor training workshops.
- Be matched with one adult learner for weekly one-hour sessions.
- Meet at a convenient public location, typically a public library.
Requirements
No prior knowledge of a second language or teaching experience is necessary. The workshop provides all necessary materials and instruction.
Qualifications
Anyone interested in helping an adult communicate in English and adapt to life in the community is encouraged to attend the workshop.
Skills
None specifically listed, but communication skills and patience are essential.
