What You'll Do
- Design and build native Android applications for robot data annotation, dataset review, and experiment tracking in the field.
- Build fast, reliable mobile experiences for real-time and near-real-time data capture alongside live robot operation.
- Utilize data-driven techniques to optimize interfaces for efficiency and fast iteration cycles.
- Integrate AI models to automate manual annotation and review tasks.
- Work closely with AI researchers, robot operators, and annotators to support new mobile-first user experiences.
- Partner with our web tooling team to ensure consistent data models and workflows across mobile and web surfaces.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional, full-time experience building native Android applications.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, and the modern Android toolchain (Jetpack Compose, Android SDK/NDK).
- Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience integrating with data stores (Postgres, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Redis, etc.).
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience building data annotation, dataset management, or field-data-collection tools.
- Experience with React/TypeScript or other web frontend frameworks, for close collaboration with web tooling counterparts.
Pay
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $150,000 - $350,000 annually. The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role.
