About the role
The Specialist II will work directly with the SIC Manager on all aspects of the institutional consulting relationship, including reviewing Requests for Proposal (RFPs), completing RFPs, reviewing and revising Investment Policy Statements (IPS), developing relationships with Financial Advisors (FAs), performing asset allocation studies, collaborating with the investment manager due diligence team to select appropriate managers for client portfolios, assisting in ongoing manager monitoring, and building performance reports. The role also involves attending client meetings (virtually and in-person) and assisting in the management of Stifel’s Summit Program, an advisory program enabling FAs to consult on client assets held away from Stifel. The Specialist II will collaborate with subject matter experts and teams across the organization to deliver comprehensive investment consulting services to institutional clients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point person for the SIIC team to support efforts to provide high-quality investment consulting services to Stifel FAs and their institutional clients.
- Manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
- Assist with review and revision of Investment Policy Statements (IPS).
- Partner with Portfolio Solutions and/or investment due diligence to determine suitable investment managers for client portfolios.
- Create and revise performance reports using the Addepar system.
- Create investment proposals using Jacobi and Morningstar Direct systems.
- Build and maintain SIIC pages on the Stifel Portal.
- Build relationships with FAs by attending and leading client meetings, both virtually and in-person.
- Oversee client portfolios between $5,000,000 and $50,000,000.
Requirements
- Experience in the financial services, institutional investment consulting, or brokerage industries.
- Team player with a positive attitude willing to contribute to building a new team and developing a successful line of business for Stifel.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the institutional investment consulting industry and process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with leadership, internal and external stakeholders, and program participants in both group and one-on-one settings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for inter-departmental and external interactions.
- Understanding of the Stifel organization, advisory programs, and fee schedules utilized by institutional clientele.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Minimum: 3–5 years of investment industry experience.
Licenses & Credentials
- Minimum Required: Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses, or Series 66 in lieu of 63 and 65, or obtain within 12 months of hire.
Systems & Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Morningstar Direct, Thomson/BETA, and Vestmark; Addepar is a plus.
Pay
Salary: USD $85,000 – USD $126,000 per year. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications, skills, and overall competencies.
