Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose problems with vehicles and schedule repairs
- Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
- Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks
- Conduct Commercial Vehicle Inspections as well as quarterly inspections
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades
- Operate a forklift
- Maintain parts inventory, and company vehicle
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Regional Operations Manager
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years of diesel mechanic experience with heavy vehicles
- ASE Diesel certification in both diesel engines and electrical systems, with T2 and T6 focus areas considered an asset
- An Associates of Applied Science in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance is considered an asset
- Experience maintaining Cummins diesel, Peterbilt and Freightliner vehicles
- Experience with computer diagnosis programs such as Davie 4, Cummins Insite, Wabco toolbox
- Ability to diagnose and repair engines, electrical systems, and brake components
- Excellent organizational and technical communication skills, interpersonal skills, and an ability to influence and to deal tactfully with a wide range of personalities
- Exceptional work ethic with a positive, analytical, and safe work attitude
- Basic skills in the use of computer-based programs such as MS 365, and CMMS systems
Qualifications
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record(s) (MVR & PSP) with no suspensions
- Candidates must be able to pass a thorough criminal background check, Fit-for-Duty, and D&A screen to be considered for employment
