About the role

The City of Plano is seeking innovative and knowledgeable individuals to join its team as a Heavy Truck & Equipment Technician in the Fleet & Equipment Services division of the Public Works Department.

Responsibilities

• Keep City vehicles operational by maintaining and repairing vehicles.
• Work within the Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician I, II, or Senior classifications based on qualifications.
• Must have 3 years' experience in vehicle maintenance & repair, Texas Class A or B CDL, and two ASE certifications.
• Must hold a Texas Department of Public Safety/Emissions Inspection Certificate within six months of hire.

Requirements

Minimum $25.212201 - Maximum $37.818302 hourly salary range.

Qualifications

• 3 years' experience in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Texas Class A or B CDL (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
• Two (2) Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications (or able to obtain within one year of hire).
• Texas Department of Public Safety/Emissions Inspection Certificate within six (6) months of hire.

Pay

Target annual rates:

• Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician I: $46,979 - $68,123
• Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician II: $51,792 - $75,102
• Senior Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician: $57,107 - $82,810

Schedule

• Two positions: 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM, Monday through Thursday.
• One position: 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
