Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites/locations to complete repairs as scheduled and assigned by the Service Manager and/or Service Writer
  • Perform mechanical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
  • Perform hydraulic and electrical diagnostics
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Update work order details with 3C’s – Complaint, Cause, Correction to complete “the story” for invoicing
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Prepare quotations for customers
  • Communicate with Service Manager and Service Writer daily regarding job progress and status changes. Notify the Service Manager and/or Service Writer upon completion of each repair
  • Acquire and update customer information to ensure up to date customer contact information
  • While traveling in the territory, conduct regular visits to customers to inspect machines/fleets and leverage service opportunities by offering reliable solutions to customers’ requirements
  • Maintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service vehicles
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Heavy Truck, Equipment or Diesel Mechanic/Technician Certificate or training preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract – Commercial License considered an asset
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience working as a Heavy Truck, Equipment or Diesel Technician
  • Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
  • Chassis experience considered an asset
  • Exposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment is considered an asset
  • Experience setting up and operating complex machinery
  • Experience using MS Office Suite

Previous relevant experience may include: Heavy Equipment Technician, Field Service Mechanic, Road Service Technician, Heavy Truck Technician, Diesel Mechanic etc.
