About the role

The Fleet Asset Specialist supports the performance, maintenance, and optimization of Tucker Paving's fleet and equipment across active job sites. This role ensures all fleet assets are properly tracked, maintained, and compliant, driving cost-efficiency and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records for all fleet assets, including vehicles, equipment, and documentation
  • Track asset location, usage, and condition using fleet management systems and GPS tools
  • Cookout preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime
  • Monitor fuel usage, maintenance costs, and overall fleet performance
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (licenses, inspections, and safety standards)
  • Absorb procurement, assignment, and disposal of fleet assets
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of vehicles and equipment
  • Analyze data and generate reports to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with vendors, mechanics, and internal teams to support operations
  • Respond to asset-related issues and resolve them in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in fleet management, asset management, or heavy/construction equipment
  • Experience with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems
  • Comfortable using iPads, smartphones, and computers
  • Proficiency with Windows-based systems and standard software

Additional Skills

  • Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to spend extended periods driving and walking on job sites
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
  • Willingness to travel to vendors and various company locations

Work Schedule and Environment

This is a field-based position, working primarily on active job sites and in outdoor environments. Work is typically performed between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., averaging 40–50 hours per week. Occasional overtime, weekends, or holidays may be required based on operational needs.
