Heavy Equipment Operator (Transmission)

The Transmission Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various construction equipment and supporting the team. This position requires:

• Operating mobile cranes, bulldozers, angle dozers, front end loaders, backhoes, excavators, track hoes, trenchers, digger-derricks, or other construction equipment.
• Performing service, safety checks, and minor repairs on machines, checking oil and fluids.
• Inspecting work areas to ensure stakes are located before digging around live utilities.
• Training, guiding, or overseeing work of lower graded operators and laborers when needed.
• Complying with safety standards and procedures according to MasTec or the customer, whichever is higher.
• Loading trucks in a safe and accident-free manner.
• Improving operations, decreasing turnaround times, streamlining work processes, and providing quality customer service with quality timeliness.
• Running wire pulling equipment such as tensioners, 4 drum pullers, single hardline pullers, break down rigs, and other pulling equipment related to Transmission line work.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• A valid driver's license.
• Ability to work in various locations for extended periods.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
• CDL Class A driver's license.
• Current and valid crane certification meeting OSHA/ASME standards such as NCCCO or NCCER.
• Physical requirements: able to bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, clear vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and ability to identify and distinguish colors.
