Heavy Equipment Operator - PW - Construction

Essential Job Functions

• Performs equipment transport and operation duties.
• Aids in the maintenance and construction of roadways, sidewalks, storm sewer systems, and other infrastructure.
• Performs traffic control and flagging to maintain safe and efficient jobsites.
• Carries out excavation, grading, and earthwork necessary for construction and maintenance of infrastructure.
• Executes related construction and maintenance tasks.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) to two (2) years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Special Qualifications: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Alabama Class A Commercial Driver’s License for the type of vehicles and equipment operated within six months of employment.
