Heavy Equipment Operator - Landfill

About the role

Operate heavy machinery such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders at waste management facilities. Conduct routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, move materials, and adhere to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders
• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on machinery
• Move materials efficiently and effectively
• Follow and uphold all safety protocols and standard operating procedures

Requirements

• At least 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Pass pre-employment drug and physical tests
• Proficiency in operating heavy machinery
• Physical capability to perform job duties, including coordination and occasional lifting
• Ability to work independently, take accountability, communicate effectively, and solve problems

Physical demands

• Good coordination and ability to operate machinery safely
• Occasional lifting required
• Exposure to environmental elements at landfill or recycling sites

Schedule

Primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends. Based at a landfill or recycling site.
