The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include wheel loaders, excavators; screening, crushing, and material conveying systems; street sweepers; skid steers; and other similar equipment.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
- Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Perform minor preventive and other maintenance.
- Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.
- Promptly report any incidents, injuries or safety concerns to management.
- Adhere to and abide by Clean Earth safety and security policies and procedures (e.g. Cardinal Rules, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), etc.).
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Education: (BA or BS degree required or preferred) High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: (Required minimum of years of relevant experience.) 1+ years of experience using a wheel loader/front-end loader. Experience in using an excavator, skid steer loader, and other related heavy equipment preferred.
