Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

Saiia Construction, a MasTec company, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for an opportunity at the Smurfit Westrock Facility in Florence, SC.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including excavator, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks to move material to and from designated areas.
• Participate in required training and ensure all established safety rules, procedures, policies, OSHA and MSHA regulations are followed.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience operating heavy machinery.
• CDL Class B preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Lift/Carry: 0-10 lbs. occasionally, 10-50 lbs. occasionally.
• Reach: Occasionally.
• Bend/Stoop: Occasionally.
• Use Hands for Manipulations: Continuously.
• Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Hearing Abilities: Must be able to hear equipment and facility signals, horns and alarms; radio, and phone communications.
