The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work at our Charleston Mill Services location in Huger, SC. This position offers career progression into a Lead Man or Maintenance Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
• Dismantle and reassemble trucks, machines, and equipment to gain access to the problem area
• Maintain work area to allow safe movement and access
• Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
• Read schematics
• Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot malfunctions
• Weld, cut, and fabricate equipment and components
• Meet customer service expectations

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of off-road heavy equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms, and suspensions
• Tier IV Emissions experience
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment
• Ability to manipulate components in hard to reach places with hands or tools
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in heavy equipment maintenance
• Valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass a drug test

Skills

Pay

Pay: $28-$45 Per Hour depending on skill and experience

Schedule

Training on days, then 4on/4off, -7 rotating days/nights
