Heavy Equipment Mechanic

About the role

Rummel Construction, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their team. They own and operate one of the largest fleets of yellow iron in the state, providing ample work opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand tools (wrenches, sockets, etc.) to complete repairs
• Lift, load, and unload up to 50 lbs as needed
• Follow safety precautions while repairing and diagnosing machines
• Walk, sit, squat, stand, or bend for extended periods
• Enter and exit equipment using 3 points of contact

Requirements

• Basic mechanic experience utilizing hand tools (wrenches, sockets, etc.) to complete repairs
• Able to lift, load, and unload up to 50 lbs
• Able to follow safety precautions while repairing and diagnosing machines
• Able to walk, sit, squat, stand, or bend for extended periods
• Able to enter and exit equipment using 3 points of contact

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

• Experience repairing CAT, John Deere, or other manufactured heavy equipment
• Knowledge of completing inspection logs, electronic driver logs, and DOT compliance
• An acceptable driving record and the ability to obtain a DOT Med Card
• Experience with welding and grinding machines
