Heavy Equipment - Mechanic
About the role
National Salvage and Service is seeking to hire a Heavy Equipment Mechanic based out of our office in Bloomington, Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Work on heavy equipment, trucks, and service vehicles
- Maintain knowledge and adherence to all safety policies
- Conduct vehicle/equipment inspections and diagnostic tests; identify and resolve worn, broken, or damaged parts
- Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system problems and consider possible solutions
- Maintain vehicles/equipment using preventive maintenance procedures that meets or exceeds industry standards
- Maintain shop equipment per operating instructions; troubleshoot and repair or coordinate repairs; maintain supplies
- Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
- Grease, oil, and lubricate components during preventive maintenance service
- Works under limited supervision
- Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company Policy, and perform all work per established safety procedures
Qualifications
- Deep working knowledge of Hydraulics and Diesel vehicles
- Need experience using mig and stick welding processes
- Must have skills in cutting with torches and plasma cutters
- Minimum of 2 years of Diesel Mechanic Experience

Pay

Schedule
