Heavy Equipment - Mechanic

About the role

National Salvage and Service is seeking to hire a Heavy Equipment Mechanic based out of our office in Bloomington, Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Work on heavy equipment, trucks, and service vehicles
• Maintain knowledge and adherence to all safety policies
• Conduct vehicle/equipment inspections and diagnostic tests; identify and resolve worn, broken, or damaged parts
• Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system problems and consider possible solutions
• Maintain vehicles/equipment using preventive maintenance procedures that meets or exceeds industry standards
• Maintain shop equipment per operating instructions; troubleshoot and repair or coordinate repairs; maintain supplies
• Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
• Grease, oil, and lubricate components during preventive maintenance service
• Works under limited supervision
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company Policy, and perform all work per established safety procedures

Qualifications

• Deep working knowledge of Hydraulics and Diesel vehicles
• Need experience using mig and stick welding processes
• Must have skills in cutting with torches and plasma cutters
• Minimum of 2 years of Diesel Mechanic Experience

Pay

Schedule
