Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
Coordinate with and receive instructions from plant manager to help with preventative and predictive maintenance on facility vehicles and machinery. Assist with equipment repairs, maintenance, paperwork and logs. Replace hoses, blades, etc. on equipment. Assist with equipment fabrication projects. Weld equipment and parts. Maintain and secure work tools, keep tools organized, and in good shape. Clean, sweep and organize the shop so that tools and supplies look neat and can be found quickly. Look for tasks that need doing and complete them without having to be told. Turn off lights at end of day, secure tools and shop. Other duties as assigned. Spot Welding will be a job duty as well. You must know how to perform maintenance on heavy equipment.
Skills Required
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
- 2 years of equipment repair experience
- Good working knowledge of parts and mechanical systems
- 2 years of welding experience with all types of general welding
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and finish tasks
- Ability to take direction and work with others
- Ability to stay productive and busy
- Ability to maintain a positive and helpful attitude in all types of circumstances
- Must have own tools
