Responsibilities

  • Perform fueling, inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure safe, reliable equipment performance.
  • Execute advanced mechanical repairs involving hydraulic, pneumatic, braking, hub, and drive/steer systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools and OEM software (including Cummins, Volvo, and PLC systems) to identify faults and implement effective repairs.
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to support accurate diagnostics and repairs.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical support to mechanics on the team.
  • Assign and prioritize work orders while ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely completion of repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with operations and dispatch teams regarding equipment status, availability, and repair timelines.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in crane, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, with experience in PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Solid working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Valid driver’s license required, with ability to meet company insurability standards.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Strong communication skills in English required; bilingual English/Spanish is an asset.
