Responsibilities
- Perform fueling, inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure safe, reliable equipment performance.
- Execute advanced mechanical repairs involving hydraulic, pneumatic, braking, hub, and drive/steer systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Use diagnostic tools and OEM software (including Cummins, Volvo, and PLC systems) to identify faults and implement effective repairs.
- Troubleshoot PLC systems and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to support accurate diagnostics and repairs.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical support to mechanics on the team.
- Assign and prioritize work orders while ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely completion of repairs.
- Communicate effectively with operations and dispatch teams regarding equipment status, availability, and repair timelines.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in crane, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, with experience in PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Solid working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Valid driver’s license required, with ability to meet company insurability standards.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
- Strong communication skills in English required; bilingual English/Spanish is an asset.
