Responsibilities
- Directs the work of other mechanics and provides support to maintenance team.
- Inspects, tests, and operates wheeled equipment to determine serviceability and proper operation.
- Maintains equipment records and documents maintenance actions using automated Logistics Information System.
- Removes, disassembles, repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls components and accessories.
- Disposes of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
- Operates, cleans, inspects, and services wheeled equipment for maintenance purposes.
- Promotes good housekeeping, property accountability control, and foreign object damage prevention.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three (3) to six (6) years of experience as an inspector of military vehicles.
- At least eight (8) years of maintenance team lead experience within medium-sized military support organizations or equivalent.
- A valid REAL ID State Driver’s License, Commercial Driver’s License preferred with no restrictions.
- Passes a pre-employment drug screening.
- Obtains and maintains a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Obtains and maintains a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
- Provides proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
- Maintains driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
- Proficient in servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing military and civilian wheeled power generation and ground support equipment.
- Familiar with the use of electronic technical manuals.
- Working knowledge of GCSS-Army preferred.
