GSE Mechanic Inspector (82nd CAB)

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection on all schedule and unscheduled repairs, operate various types of commercial equipment, non-tactical vehicles, some military equipment, controllers, heating units, generators and other transmission equipment.
• Diagnose defects, examine equipment/parts for damage or excessive wear.
• Perform Turn In Documents (TI) and Classification on all equipment when required.
• Use automated logistics information system (G-Army).
• Use of computer system (Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point).
• Practices good housekeeping, property accountability control, and safety at all times.
• Additional responsibilities include working with a variety of repair and test equipment, including welders, torches, pressure testers, and electrical testers.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Automotive/General Equipment maintenance or an equivalent.
• A valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
• Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
• Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
• Ability to service and repair some tactical, non-tactical, commercial and construction equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling systems and components on various construction equipment, tracked vehicles, lawn equipment and other small engine systems in accordance with appropriate procedures and publications.
• Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues as they relate to vehicle maintenance.
