Heavy Duty Mechanic – Budget Truck - FT

About the role

Avis Budget Group is seeking an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) to support Budget Truck operations. This role involves performing essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer moving vans and box trucks.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil and fluid services, lubrication, tire repairs, brake and suspension work
• Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostics and repair procedures
• Drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or operational support

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C)
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year
• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
• Complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently
• Able to enter, exit and drive vehicles
• At least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Able to obtain DOT medical clearance

Qualifications

• Previous OEM experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage

Pay

$27.00/hour. Factors which may affect starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
