Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Technician

About the role

PACCAR Financial is seeking a Truck Technician to join our Used Truck Center in Spartanburg, SC. In this position, you will perform a variety of skilled tasks including proper maintenance and repair of Class 6/7/8 Diesel Powered Trucks.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work during core business hours, Monday through Friday
• Perform diagnostic inspections on general truck-tractor systems utilizing both mechanical diagnostics and system software diagnostics tools
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections of truck-tractor components following a PACCAR check list
• Perform repairs to truck-tractor components including, but not limited to, brakes lighting and electronic systems
• Complete required paperwork to reflect hours, parts and supplies utilized within each job function
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Ability to work in a team based environment, multi-task and accept shifting priorities
• Provide superior customer service to all of PACCAR's clients

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on diesel technician experience
• General knowledge of major truck components and systems
• Proven track record of quality workmanship with minimal rework
• Strong commitment to workplace safety with demonstrated knowledge of shop safety protocols
• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of standing and working for extended periods
• Comfortable performing work under vehicles and engine bays
• Ability to handle the physical demands of diesel mechanic work
• Available for full-time work and able to work additional hours occasionally as needed

Pay

The salary range for the Tech B is $22.75/hr. – $34.13/hr.
