Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

• Perform basic inspection (check fluids, lights, brakes, etc.)
• Perform preventive maintenance on cars, trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
• Responsible for diagnosis and repair of tractors including but not limited to brakes, suspension, transmissions
• Responsible for body repair including welding
• Keep garage and all working areas clean
• Record and enter maintenance and parts information into the computer
• Work in a safe manner adhering to all MDI, state, and federal safety guidelines
• Operate trailer yard spotter as needed
• Change truck and trailer tires, as needed
• May be required to do other jobs or tasks, as needed

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of hands-on repair and diagnosis experience
• Air conditioning certified
• Needs the following ASE certifications: Suspension/Steering, Air brake, Diesel/Gasoline, Transmission/Differential
• Experience in transmission/differential repair
• Intermediate computer skills with diagnosis programs preferred
• Experience with Mack/Detroit engines
• Basic welding skills
• Must be able to bend, twist, and lift up to 100+ lbs and pass lifting test
• Must have own basic tools and tool chest
