About the role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to perform mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy trucks, earth moving, and related construction equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and heavy machinery such as pavers, millers, rollers, and bobcats, as well as company vehicles.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Handle complex and major repairs independently.
  • Utilize middle to advanced-level welding skills for various types of welding as needed.
  • Respond to field service calls with a focus on delivering high-quality, timely repairs.
  • Conduct on-site repairs at job locations to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with managers regarding repair progress and parts inventory needs.
  • Work effectively within a team, demonstrating a willingness to learn and train others.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships.

Requirements

  • Skilled at large tractor truck diesels, including CAT and CUMMINS engines, and large diesel Peterbilt and MACK engines.
  • Skilled with transmissions, exhaust systems, fuel systems, drivelines, differentials, hubs, and all other components of equipment including pavers, millers, rollers, and bobcats.
  • Experienced working on Bobcats / skid steer equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure proper functioning and safe operation.
