About the Role

The Heavy Cleaning Crew Member is a key part of the Spokane Tribe Casino operations team, responsible for performing guest service, cleaning duties, communicating promotions, and responding to janitorial service calls throughout the property. This role interacts daily with guests and teammates while upholding the casino’s mission of exceeding guest expectations. The position works assigned grave shifts to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, focusing on heavy cleaning during non-peak hours to minimize disruption to the Gaming Floor.

Responsibilities

Heavy Cleaning Crew Member Duties

• Floor maintenance: strip and wax floors, shampoo carpets.
• Kitchen maintenance: clean server stations, bars, walls, equipment, drains, and vent hoods; pressure wash floors.
• Restroom maintenance: pressure wash floors.
• General maintenance: clean walls, ceilings, lights, fixtures, floor vents, duct work, windows, counters, tables, chairs, railings, and restaurant floors/walls.
• Perform special projects as directed.
• Operate and maintain all types of cleaning equipment.
• Execute the 10/5, 1st last core standard while maintaining top-notch guest service.
• Assist facilities engineers with property maintenance during adverse weather conditions.
• Notify CSM or Facilities team of any safety concerns.
• Work as a team and communicate with other team members, supervisors, and management.
• Other duties as assigned.

EVS Attendant Duties

• Carpet maintenance: vacuum, sweep, remove stains, gum, and debris.
• Window maintenance: clean glass, mirrors, slot machine signage, and overhead brass.
• Office maintenance: clean walls, ceilings, vents, lights, fixtures, glass, mirrors, brass; porter pans, vacuum, spot clean carpets, dust furniture, and remove trash.
• Restroom maintenance: clean sinks, toilets, urinals, counters, floors, mirrors, stainless steel, chrome, walls, ceilings, lights, vents, doors, and partitions; fill paper and soap dispensers; empty trash receptacles.
• General maintenance: clean walls, ceilings, lights, fixtures, glass, mirrors, brass, counters, tables, chairs, railings, slot machine bases, gaming tables; dust furniture; sweep and mop floors; empty trash receptacles and dirty linen containers.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Work in varying levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, depending on location and customer volume.
• Interact with guests and team members in an upbeat and friendly manner.
• Safely work with various chemicals, taking proper precautions.
• Occasionally work outside and be subject to all weather conditions (proper clothing provided).
• Effectively move around the work area and remain on feet for extended periods.
• Inspect and clean areas of responsibility, including using ladders and cleaning ground-level areas.
• Lift and move up to 100 pounds as needed; frequently lift and move between 10 and 20 pounds.
• Transport supplies to and from work areas.

Qualifications

• At least six months of prior janitorial experience (floor care preferred).
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Ability to physically perform duties, including moving effectively, standing for long periods, using cleaning chemicals, and operating ladders and tools.

Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a License C with the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
• Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
• Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble, loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
• Knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures related to the department.
• Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
• Maintain high standards of integrity and confidentiality, as access to restricted areas may be required.
• Report illegal activity to Security or appropriate levels of management.
