About the Role
The Heatset Creeler is responsible for securing and replenishing the Heatset machine with yarn packages for heat setting, as well as patrolling and monitoring the machine's operation.
Responsibilities
- Follow all Safety, Plant, and Quality Guidelines.
- Secure packages of yarn and load them onto the Heatset creel.
- Check every yarn tube before placing it on the creel, verifying that it matches the spec sheet precisely.
- Verify that each tube of yarn meets the quality specified on the spec sheet.
- Place a tube cap on each tube as soon as it is in position when required by the spec sheet.
- Air splice the package lead end to the tail of the running end package.
- Periodically check the thread path; stop the machine and correct any crossed threads immediately.
- Monitor for slubs and/or chokes in tensioners, ensuring tensioners remain clean as tension is critical to runnability.
- Clean your assigned work area each shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and write instructions effectively.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Hand dexterity sufficient to handle packages and operate a splicer or tie weavers’ knots as specified.
- Ability to lift and place numerous 12–20 lb. packages per shift.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
- Report all accidents immediately.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
