Heating & Cooling Mechanic
What You'll be Doing
Learn and assist with the installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of refrigeration and heating/cooling equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, gas- and oil-fired boilers, furnaces, stoves, ovens, incinerators, air conditioners, water coolers, refrigerators, freezers, cryostats, ice makers, and other temperature-controlled systems.
- Assist with routine preventative maintenance and maintain refrigerant records in compliance with EPA regulations and Indiana Code.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer instructions.
Requirements
This position is subject to 24-hour emergency call-back for situations such as equipment failure, fire, or vandalism. Overtime (scheduled or unscheduled) may be required to complete assigned tasks.
Must adhere to Purdue University safety policies, procedures, and required training.
Qualifications
The typical work schedule for this position is Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
