Heat Treater A-C 1st Shift

About the role
Based in Ipswich, MA, the Heat Treater will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed. This position is deemed safety-sensitive due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market.
Responsibilities
- Assists with operations, control, and monitoring of heat treating and related equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
- Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
- Brings any unusual problem or irregularity to the attention of the supervisor.
- Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- Responsible for the care and treatment of customer inventory, performing duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent loss or damage.
- Reports for work on time, follows directions, interacts effectively with co-workers, understands and follows rules and procedures, and accepts constructive criticism.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
- Must be able to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
Skills
- Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 – $30.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.
Schedule
Full-time, 40+ hours per week. Hours are Monday–Friday, 7 am–3 pm. Must be willing to work overtime.
