Heat Treater - 1st Shift

About the role
Based in Haltom City, TX, the Heat Treater will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of their supervisor and General Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed.
Depending on your skills and experience, this role may be filled at one of the following levels:
- Level B: Mid-Level: 2 to 3 years of experience in heat treating. You should have a proven track record in heat treating, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
This position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market.
Responsibilities
The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
- Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
- Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- Responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.

- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.

- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Schedule
