Heart Transplant Surgery Fellowship

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily inpatient care for heart and lung transplant patients, including pre-, intra-, and post-operative stages, ICU rounding, and discharge planning.
• Cook up multidisciplinary teams such as cardiology, pulmonology, ECMO/VAD services, infectious diseases, pharmacy, PT/OT, social work, and care management.
• Participate in organ offer management, selection conferences, operative planning, and surgical procedures.
• Engage in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives within the transplant programs.
• Contribute to teaching junior fellows and residents through bedside instruction, case-based learning, and didactics.
