Essential Functions
- Administers testing to determine if infant needs follow up hearing screening or evaluation.
- Affirms adequate supplies are available each day.
- Communicates with nursing unit team prior to seeing patient to assure testing is appropriate at that time.
- Provides written documentation of test results in patient medical record as required by department.
- Cleans equipment after each use based upon manufacturer’s instructions for use.
- Provides education within scope of practice to parent(s) on what to expect from newborn hearing screening procedure.
- Participates in training related to patient experience, test administration and equipment cleaning/maintenance.
- Collaborates with other service areas to ensure proper patient care.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy.
- Adheres to and supports team members in exhibiting TMCH values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication.
- Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Degree.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
