Hearing Technician Per Diem

Essential Functions

• Administers testing to determine if infant needs follow up hearing screening or evaluation.
• Affirms adequate supplies are available each day.
• Communicates with nursing unit team prior to seeing patient to assure testing is appropriate at that time.
• Provides written documentation of test results in patient medical record as required by department.
• Cleans equipment after each use based upon manufacturer’s instructions for use.
• Provides education within scope of practice to parent(s) on what to expect from newborn hearing screening procedure.
• Participates in training related to patient experience, test administration and equipment cleaning/maintenance.
• Collaborates with other service areas to ensure proper patient care.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy.
• Adheres to and supports team members in exhibiting TMCH values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication.
• Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Degree.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
