About the Role
Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital serving Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut. This role is responsible for both clinical and administrative areas, assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. The Hearing Instrument Specialist conducts hearing assessments for the purpose of fitting and dispensing hearing aids, provides ongoing support and education to patients, and collaborates with clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient care in both clinical and administrative capacities.
- Handle clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
- Provide information to patients to help them fully utilize and benefit from clinical services.
- Conduct hearing assessments for fitting and dispensing hearing aids.
- Offer ongoing support and education to patients in collaboration with clinical staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Audiology or Hearing Instrument Science (preferred).
- 1 year of experience in an ENT or Audiology practice (required); 2+ years (preferred).
- Connecticut Hearing Instrument Specialist license (required).
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS) (preferred).
