Healthy Steps Specialist (Union/Cherokee)

About the role

The HealthySteps Specialist is an early child development expert who will join the pediatric primary care team at ReGenesis Health Care to provide interventions, referrals, and follow-up for families with patients ages 0-5. The HealthySteps Specialist builds strong relationships with families and providers to increase the efficiency of the medical system and support team-based comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Connect with the community to understand and address their needs.
• Work with children aged 0-3 and their families to provide support and advocacy.
• Manage a caseload of patients and provide health education.
• Interact positively with a diverse patient population, of all ages, backgrounds, and personalities.
• Read, write, and maintain patient records and document using computer systems.
• Help families feel comfortable addressing their social drivers of health.

Requirements

• Experience connecting with the community.
• Experience working with children 0-3 and families.
• Experience advocating for community needs and resources by attending meetings and events.
• Experience managing a caseload of patients.
• Experience providing health education.
• Ability to read, write, and maintain patient records and document using computer systems.
• Ability to help families feel comfortable in addressing their social drivers of health.
• Ability to interact positively with a diverse patient population, of all ages, backgrounds, and personalities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, early childhood education, or related field, highly preferred.
• Clinically licensed mental health professional preferred or willing to obtain within one year of role.
• Knowledge about early childhood growth and development, parent-child relational health, infant and early childhood mental health, and family systems.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients and staff.
• Proficiency in computer systems for maintaining patient records.

Pay

Up to $60,000 based upon experience.
