Healthy Steps Specialist (Spartanburg)

About the role

The HealthySteps Specialist provides support services for families with children 0 - 5 years old and advocates for their well-being. This position is part of the pediatric team at ReGenesis Health Care, a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to increasing community access to comprehensive healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Connect with the community to understand and address its needs.
• Work with children aged 0-3 and their families to provide support and advocacy.
• Manage a caseload of patients and provide health education.
• Read, write, and maintain patient records and documents using computer systems.
• Help families feel comfortable discussing their social drivers of health.
• Interact positively with a diverse patient population, including infants, toddlers, and parents.

Requirements

• Experience connecting with the community.
• Experience working with children 0-3 and families.
• Experience advocating for community needs and resources through attendance at meetings and events.
• Experience managing a caseload of patients.
• Experience providing health education.
• Ability to read, write, and maintain patient records and documents using computer systems.
• Ability to help families feel comfortable in addressing their social drivers of health.
• Positive interaction with a diverse patient population, including infants, toddlers, and parents.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, early childhood education, or a related field, highly preferred.
• Clinically licensed mental health professional preferred or willing to obtain within one year of role.
• Knowledge and experience in early childhood growth and development, parent-child relational health, infant and early childhood mental health, and family systems.

• Proficiency in computer systems for maintaining patient records.
• Ability to manage caseloads and provide health education.
• Understanding of early childhood development and mental health.

Pay

Excellent salary up to $60,000 based upon experience.
