What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

  • Schedule medical appointments by coordinating patients, providers, and facility resources
  • Utilize electronic medical record/scheduling software to manage appointments and ensure patient safety
  • Gather and document patient demographics and insurance information for authorizations and referrals
  • Provide pre and post-test instructions to patients, ensuring they are well-informed for their appointments
  • Communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff through various channels to enhance the patient experience

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • A high school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service or related experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to handle high-volume inbound calls while maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for positive customer interactions
  • Proficient computer and typing skills, with the ability to utilize common office software

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in an inbound call center or as a scheduler in a practice management environment
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Knowledge of payor contract terms and processes
