Healthcare Project Manager
About the role
The Healthcare Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, with a primary focus on healthcare, and an integrated emphasis on higher education environments. This role serves as the client’s day-to-day representative and trusted advisor, leading multiple projects through all phases from feasibility and design through construction and occupancy.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the client’s primary day-to-day point of contact and trusted advisor.
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, cost control, cash flow, quality, procurement, communications, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Maintain primary responsibility for project schedules and budgets; proactively manage risks and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Administer contracts, change management, and project billing in accordance with contractual and firm requirements.
- Manage and lead multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ensure consistent quality control of deliverables and adherence to firm standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Serve as a key contributor to client relationship management, supporting Directors in retaining and expanding existing engagements and pursuing new opportunities.
- Support business development efforts through proposal development, interview participation, and opportunity responses.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within healthcare and higher education client relationships.
- Travel as required to support project, client, and team needs.
- Effectively coordinate with other team members as requested or assigned, able to provide guidance and monitor progress on assigned tasks or projects, and ensure work product produced by self or other assigned team members is consistently high quality.
- Mentor project team members in execution of defined objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Support individual and any assigned team members quality control of service delivery, maintaining an excellent reputation of quality.
- Provide guidance to project team members in a manner that assists with rapid identification and escalation to Managing Consultant of any client, team member or operational challenges.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience, a Master's degree and 3 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience and no degree.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a consulting or owner’s representative environment.
- Strong experience delivering healthcare projects required; experience with healthcare facilities on higher education campuses strongly preferred.
- Experience delivering higher education projects strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead project teams effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring and overseeing direct reports.
- Able to work independently while effectively taking direction from senior leadership.
