Job Responsibilities
- Application of Knowledge
- Assists in developing planning studies and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs, and regulations.
- Assists in reviewing plans and applying provisions of the ordinances and codes to determine compliance with regulations and to apply regulations to field conditions.
- Ability to create graphic designs, development strategies, and render site plans via sketches and/or computer graphics highly desirable.
- Assists in the review of moderately difficult development proposals and site plans from clients for conformance with codes, plans, and regulations.
- Collections a variety of statistical and demographic data and prepares reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, and occupancy rates.
- Conducts field evaluations and assessments independently.
- Prepare data and visualization elements such as tables, charts, accurate reports, models, infographics and 3D illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
- Interprets and applies applicable state, county and local codes, ordinances, and regulations.
- Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well-defined practical problems.
- Creates work plan for assigned tasks. Monitors and projects personal workload status, advising supervisor of difficulties in accomplishing schedules.
- Recommends priorities, schedules, and funding sources to implement public improvement plan.
- Mets scheduled key dates.
- Advises Manager of changes.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in architecture, healthcare administration, nursing, industrial engineering or related area of study; or a master's degree (preferred) in the fields listed above.
- AICP Certification is preferred.
- 8-15 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning.
- Knowledge of a relevant specialization in healthcare facility operations and planning is desired.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection.
- Statistical, algebraic, or geometric knowledge and ability to apply such knowledge in practical situations.
- Excellent professional ethics, leadership skills, accountability, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, presentation, and analytic skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Adobe Creative Suite, ESRI ArcGIS, or similar products.
- Well-developed knowledge of planning principles and practices.
- Knowledge of or experience in community remediation and redevelopment, and knowledge of relevant Federal programs.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations;
- The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds;
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information.
- The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
