* Healthcare Payment Posting Specialist * ($1,000 Sign On Bonus!)

Overview

This position accurately posts payments; adjustments received on a daily basis through 835 files and paper EOB's. $1,000 sign-on bonus available (terms apply)

Responsibilities

• Main: Accurately posts transactions (payments and adjustments) from various sources on a daily basis.
• Payments sources include Electronic Remittances, paper checks and EOB’s, patients, collection agency, capitation plans, Care Credit and Patient Portal.
• Balances daily batches against deposit received.
• Adheres to the department’s payment reconciliation process.
• Maintains accuracy and meets or exceeds productivity standards in the completion of daily assignments.
• Maintain an error rate in accordance with departmental policy.
• Answer and respond to external and internal phone calls in a timely manner.
• Prioritizes work to maximize turn-around time.
• Check and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
• Performs all other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Prior Experience: 1 year of medical billing, payment posting or cash posting/ cash application experience in a medical/healthcare setting.
• Skills And Proficiencies: Active knowledge of CMS guidelines, contracted insurance guidelines and coding policies. Demonstrated computer literacy. Well-organized with attention to detail. Excellent math skills. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions. Professional customer service skills. Have a desire and dedication to work with self-discipline. Maintains the strictest confidentiality: adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to sit for long periods.
• Work requires walking, bending, standing, sitting, and reaching.
