About the role

Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable healthcare to everyone, with a special focus on uninsured, low-income individuals. Operating more than 90 sites across San Diego County, FHCSD serves over 227,000 patients annually, with 91% being low-income and 29% uninsured. Services include adult care, pediatrics, behavioral health, dental, vision, and a wide range of specialty services.

Responsibilities

• Learns PCMH requirements on team-based health care and patient centered healthcare.
• Learns and demonstrates an understanding of programs, services, and populations served; manages a variety of clinic operations and service lines.
• Learns and demonstrates knowledge of healthcare administration; promotes community engagement while balancing government relations and regulations.
• Understands the regulatory environment of a community healthcare organization.
• Learns and demonstrates knowledge of healthcare finance and fiscal management; effectively manages profit and loss and ensures projected net gain.
• Learns and demonstrates an understanding of LEAN and process improvement programs; leads and drives positive change through LEAN methodology.
• Learns and demonstrates knowledge of supervisory practices; effectively supervises a team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Non-Profit Management or other related discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and drive positive change through others.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, time-management skills, and strong motivation to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
• Experience/interest working with diverse populations; demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
• Interest in nonprofit management, community development and healthcare administration.
• Interest in the issues of equal access to healthcare by those considered underinsured/uninsured.
• Demonstrated commitment to community medicine and providing culturally competent care to the medically underserved.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with employees, coworkers, and departments.
• Possess a social consciousness demonstrated by previous volunteer or paid employment in a mission-centered company.
• Creative and flexible.
• Traveling between sites and other locations is required as an essential function of the job.
