About the role

The role involves conducting analyses using WTW-developed tools and models to evaluate medical cost drivers and provider quality, as well as social and environmental risk factors within a client's population. It also includes supporting the development of tools and models through the collection, review, and organization of large-scale datasets, participating in regular calls with healthcare delivery vendor partners, providing quality reviews for technical & consulting accuracy on client projects, and delivering superior project management.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts analyses using WTW-developed tools and models to evaluate medical cost drivers and provider quality, as well as social and environmental risk factors within a client’s population
  • Accurately interprets and communicates model output in creating client deliverables
  • Supports the development of tools and models through the collection, review, and organization of large-scale datasets
  • Participates in regular calls with healthcare delivery vendor partners
  • Provides quality reviews for technical & consulting accuracy on client projects
  • PARTNERS WITH CLIENT SERVICE TEAMS TO DELIVER SUPERIOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Learns to communicate complex financial/actuarial/analytic results to effectively drive client action
  • BUILDS STRONG RELATIONSHIPS INTERNALLY AND COLLABORATES EFFECTIVELY ON CROSS-FUNCTIONAL TEAMS

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in professional services, ideally gained in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or a financial function of a health insurance company or healthcare vendor
  • Basic knowledge of health and welfare products and services
  • Ability to learn big data analytic techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of carrier claim reporting
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical, creative and integrative skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Tableau is beneficial
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining
  • Relevant financial or healthcare experience and/or university degree

Qualifications

  • Progress towards completion of health actuarial designation (optional)
