Responsibilities
- Perform fundamental credit analysis on leveraged loan issuers across the Healthcare sector, including providers, services, facilities, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare IT, and related subsectors.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models, including operating forecasts, liquidity analysis, leverage metrics, recovery analyses, and stress-testing scenarios.
- Present investment recommendations to portfolio managers and investment committees, including new purchase opportunities, portfolio updates, and relative value ideas.
- Maintain and monitor existing portfolio holdings, identifying changes in credit fundamentals, capital structure dynamics, covenant protections, and industry trends.
- Conduct meetings with management teams, private equity sponsors, industry experts, sell-side analysts, and other market participants.
- Analyze primary market new issues, refinancings, amend-and-extend transactions, and liability management exercises.
- Evaluate covenant packages, documentation terms, collateral quality, and structural protections within healthcare leveraged loans.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers on portfolio positioning, risk management, and sector allocation decisions.
- Support surveillance and performance monitoring across CLO portfolios, ensuring investments remain aligned with portfolio objectives and risk parameters.
- Prepare investment memoranda, industry reports, and portfolio reviews for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 3-8 years of relevant experience in healthcare credit investing, leveraged finance, CLOs, high yield research, investment banking, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, leverage metrics, and capital structures.
- Experience covering healthcare issuers across leveraged loans, high yield bonds, private credit, or related markets.
- Advanced financial modeling and credit analysis skills.
- Knowledge of loan documentation, covenants, restructuring situations, and special situations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to form independent investment opinions and communicate recommendations effectively.
- Bachelor's degree required; CFA designation or progress toward CFA is preferred.
