Position: Healthcare Assistant
Location
Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC (with travel to other Council camps as needed)
Duration
Durability: Summer 2026 (mid-May through the end of July)
Compensation
Compensation: Weekly salary of $412.00, including housing and meals after training
Bonuses
- $250 Mid-Summer Bonus: Camp staff hired for the summer who remain employed through the end of June will receive a $250 bonus.
- $250 Completion Bonus: Camp staff who remain employed through the end of summer camp will receive a $250 bonus.
A Day In The Life
Maintaining Records: Assist the Healthcare Supervisor with maintaining accurate and detailed medical records according to state and American Camp Association Standards
Health and Safety: Assist in providing health and safety services to campers and staff.
Create Memories: Serve as a role model to campers and staff. Help make this summer unforgettable for campers—and for yourself!

Requirements
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate.
- Current first aid/CPR certification or must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR.
- Experience in first aid and emergency management services.
- Ability to interact with all age levels.
- Prior camp experience or working with youth preferred.
Physical Aspects of the Job
- Ability to lift/assist campers and staff.
- Ability to read and follow directions on medication labels, health forms, physician orders, and parent letters.
- Ability to use a telephone.
- Ability to maintain a written record system.
- Ability to quickly get to remote locations on a camp property over uneven terrain.
- Ability to observe and assess sanitation and safety conditions of the camp.
- Exhibit endurance to meet emergency needs.
- Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities.
